How It Works
Galvanic current is transmitted from the machine and channeled through the hair follicle to the unwanted hair. The current follows our exclusive, highly effective bulb electrode to the soft, moist tissue around the hair shaft down to the follicle. This current chemically changes the water and salt in the follicle to sodium hydroxide. Just as in traditional needle electrolysis, the sodium hydroxide destroys the root and papilla, which is the source of nourishment for the hair. In a very short time the treated hair can be removed.

It's All About Cycles
Excessive hair growth can be attributed to many cases such as heredity, stress, hormonal changes, or even some medications. For women puberty, pregnancy and menopause play important roles.

For these reasons, no one-not even your doctor-can predict the exact length of time before there is no more re-growth following treatments. You see, hair grows in cycles. There can be as many as 1000 hair follicles or more in a square inch, but less than 100 hairs will be showing at any on time. It goes like this...

Anagen:
This is the magic stage. Here the hair is growing and when it is visible above the skin, it can be treated. There is plenty of water and salt available in the root area for the galvanic current. To chemically change the water and salt to sodium hydroxide. Just as in traditional needle electrolysis the sodium hydroxide destroys the follicle. This period for facial and body hair can be as long as two to three weeks.

Catagen:
We are out of luck! The growth process has now reversed itself and the hair is ready to shed. The water and salt have dried up and formed a hard "bulb". Follicle destruction is not possible. A follicle treated in the Catagen stage will still produce another hair. This stage is extremely variable and can be as short as two days!

Telogen:
This is the resting stage. The hair is neither developing or growing. It is usually not visible above the skin and therefore, cannot be treated. This unpredictable phase can be as short as a few days or as long as a few years!

Electrolysis/Thermolysis/Blend
Glavanic current has been used in the hair removal industry since 1875. Technicians have seen fantastic results in the removal of unwanted hair and have found this to be the safest and most effective method to treat unwanted hair.

There are three stages of hair growth-
Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. The only time the hair can be permanently destroyed is when it is in the Anagen stage.

It takes 6 to 12 weeks for a hair to grow from the papilla to the surface of the skin. Therefore, if you were to tweeze a hair today, it is genetically impossible for you to see that same hair in a week.

Do not bleach, tweeze or shave between treatments.
If hairs become too noticeable, call your technician for an appointment.

Commitment is important.
Hair grows approximately 1/2 inch per month, but the hair on a woman's lip may reach only 1/4 inch above the skin. This means the hair would be above the skin in the Anagen (destroyable) stage approximately 2 weeks. If appointments are missed, hair removal will not be as fast since some of the hair will reach, the shedding stage before treatment can therefore cannot be destroyed.

Please note carefully the cycles of hair growth. Notice that the hair may be in the Anagen (growing stage) and above the skin for a period of only two weeks. Catagen (degenerative stage) can be as brief as two days. Telogen (resting stage) can last a few days or a few years. The extreme variability of these cycles can render individual patterns that are vastly different.

As with Needle Electrolysis, there is no way to predict exactly how long it will take to remove all unwanted hair, but you can rest assured that the treatment duration and visits will decrease. For example, one hour treatments will diminish to 45 minutes, then 30 minutes and so on. Treatments once a week will change to once every 10 days, to once every 2 weeks, etc., until there is no re-growth

After Treatment
Reactions are minor. You may expect some redness that lasts one hour. Some clients see scabs which will peel off in a few days. Each person differ. No risk of scarring. Discoloration of the skin is transitory. Skin will recuperate itself.
